Description


Casing centralizer is a mechanical device that keeps casing from contacting the wellbore wall. A annular space around casing allows cement to completely seal the casing to the borehole wall


There are 2 basic types of casing centralizer: bow spring centralizer and rigid blade casing centralizer

Because the outer diameter of bow springs are slightly larger than the wellbore, bow spring centralizer can provide complete centralization in vertical or slightly deviated wells. However bow spring centralizer can not support the weight of the casing very well in deviated wellbores

Rigid blade casing centralizer is rugged and works well even in deviated wellbores, but since the centralizer are smaller than the wellbore, rigid blade casing centralizer will not provide as good centralization as bow spring centralizers in vertical wells. Rigid blade casing centralizers are slightly more expensive

The casing centralizers will centralize the casing but the casing will glide under its own weight between the centralizers. In order to keep a minimum stand-off error along the wellhole, casing centralizer must be placed at interval along the casing such that the casing can keep minimum stand-off error

Features

1) Bow springs made of spring steel which has been heat teated and hardened tempered to ensure proper and consistent spring characteristics.

2) End collar hinges are folded toward inside. This way will minimize the collar stretch taht tends to occur when centralizers encounter tapers, commonly found in certain type of pipe connections.
